The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) located in Sylhet, Bangladesh, has a rich legacy of producing graduates in various disciplines, including Forestry and Environmental Science (FES). With a growing number of graduates from the FES department, there arises a need to establish a cohesive Alumni Association. The FES Alumni Association of SUST was established on January 9, 2020, with the goal of building connection, engagement, and empowerment of alumni, to contribute positively to society, support current students, and enhance the reputation of the university. Besides, the FES Alumni Association always endeavours to support and encourage quality education and growth of the FES department at SUST.
The key objectives of our alumni association are:
1. Build professional and social networks among FES alumni members nationally and globally.
2. Create a platform for the career advancement of FES students and graduates.
3. Support and encourage educational excellence and development at the FES department.
The establishment of the FES Alumni Association, SUST will not only strengthen connections among alumni but also create opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and support for current students. By fostering a sense of community and engagement, the association will contribute to the continued success and reputation of both the department and the university.
Through membership fees, donations, professional training programs, and other initiatives, the association generates funds that are utilized for arranging social events, providing financial assistance to members in need, and offering scholarships and student amenities at the FES department.
We invite all former students and graduates of FES, SUST to join the FES Alumni Association, SUST to reconnect with fellow graduates, support current students, and contribute to the advancement of environmental sustainability.
